[Heathkit] messages rejected

A good point Peter. Juno is not the only one, as Yahoo does it all the time
too. All of it contributes to the issue, that is for certain.

Unfortunately for the users, mostly of the free services, there is no way to
turn off the promotional debris in the footer field.

(What follows is not this author using his literary license, it was an
actual event.) Once upon a time, several years ago, an internet service
known as Juno was bouncing mail for subscribers of the QTH.NET mail
reflectors more then the Detroit Pistons double dribbling on a really bad
night! Subscribers to the over 550 QTH.NET lists were doing more complaining
and moaning then a bus load of women who bought high heeled shoes that were
too tight in the toes and were making their toes crooked, as well as causing
warts! The owner of QTH.NET tried several times to rectify the problem that
Juno was having with mail to and from its subscribers being rejected by Juno
and not posting on the QTH.NET lists. The wandering wizards at Juno, all of
whom wore pointed hats but devoid of stars and other sparkling objects,
seemed more dense then Lead. About as cooperative as a Missouri bred Mule
with its two navigation brain cells in reverse! Finally the management of
the T1 lines capable of 50,000 messages each per minute, the dozens of
servers and whole host of high speed computers that handled electronic mail
faster then an entire United States postal main office full of employees
having just drunk several cups of coffee laced with vitamins, minerals and a
whole lotta stimulants! Juno suddenly started to get electronic mail faster
then an entire Great Plains population of Buffalo stampeding to the Porta
Johns after eating too many little green apples! Those kind that give man
and beast alike what is known as the Green Apple Quick Step!

The servers at Juno started to sputter, cough, huff and puff and then they
all fell down like when that Wolf blew those poor little Pigs houses flat!
Simply put, Juno's system crashed! No more rejected mail. No more bounced
back mail. No more damn mail at all! Somewhere in the caverns of the
electronic canyons of cosmic equality, justice had just been dispensed!

Then the management of Juno got a friendly suggestive note telling them to
stop rejecting mail to and from the Juno subscribers who used QTH.NET or
that infernal Gremlin who just caused their servers to crash like a house of
cards in a hurricane might once again be unleashed from his hideout in
Sigh-Brr space! Then a wonderous thing happened. The Juno system started to
work right! The mail to QTH.NET was not being drop kicked into Love Canal
and the mail sent from QTH.NET was being delivered to Juno subscribers with
no more redirects to therecycling rodents that populate the NYC sewer
systems! All was well -

Although I altered a name here and a place there, to protect both the
innocent and the guilty, this really did happen guys! When I first heard
about it having taken place, I must admit, without shame, that I laughed
until I fogged up my shades and tears streamed down my cheekcs into my cheap
plastic computer keyboard and caused several keys to develop a pattern much
like stuttering!
