Depends on line voltage at any time. Depends on running 120 or 220 VAC.
Depends upon the condition of the tubes and the band you're operating on.
I haven't done dip and load on my SB-200 or Courier amps. for over 20
years. I see no reason too. I have a forward reading wattmeter and a
scope looking at the RF going to the antenna . Of course, with the dummy
load in line, give the amp some RF drive in AM or CW and tune for maximum
RF. Hence the name "linear amplifier". Bring up the RF drive to the RF
output you plan to use and you're done. The only meter reading of
interest to me on the amps. is the idling current.
