I use to live in England and my call was G5DFD. I worked for General
Electric at the time in Saudi Arabia and had my home in the north of England.
Heathkit was also sold and made in England. I saw many English versions of the
DX-40. Heathkit actually had a factory in England. The front paint layout was
rather different than the US versions on most of their rigs. Also, the circuit
layout did differ on many rigs because of the difference of availability of
parts in England compared to the US. This radio does not appear to be an
English version of the HR-10. You are correct about the voltage (called mains in
England). It is 250 volt 50 cycle.
