Heath made the MK-3 kit, known as the "DX-100 Loading
Control Modification" which changed the fixed loading
capacitor / 50 pf variable to a 3 section variable
(420 pf per section if I remember correctly).
Transmitters thus modified were known as DX-100A
models. That is one of the reasons that the next
version was called the DX-100B.

The DX-100 should work fine on several bands with your
antenna, if you try you will know for sure. The
DX-100-B had more loading capacity as I recall, that
might help and could be modified in. If you want to
operate with this antenna on all bands an antenna
tuner sounds like a good idea. It is not hard to put
up dipoles for 10/15/20 aimed at specific directions,
also. The long wire's radiation pattern is totally
different on each band, depending on it's actual
length.
