Nope. DX-35 had a 0-3 mA (basic movement) Shurite POS with scales
of 0-6 mA and 0-150 mA. When my first one crapped out (in 1957) I
replaced it with a good Simpson 0-3 mA meter and changed the
metering resistors accordingly.

DX-35's meter was a metal-cased Shurite POS.

I loved my DX-35, but that meter was worthless. My original DX-35 ate
two power transformers in three years, so I replaced THAT with a big
TV power transformer in that "Economy Powersupply" configuration,
and also got rid of that stupid "series string" idea for the B+ for the
buffer and oscillator stages. After I did that, I used the DX-35 for many
years as my main station driver for a KW amp built out of an old BC-
610-E that was non-functional when I got it. I used the DX-35 for CW
and RTTY. The VFO was a VF-1 modified for "shift pot FSK". Sure was
fun.
