If you mean the "airless" piston types the answer is yes and no......
I used one to paint a Ranger cabinet.
The sprayer tends to "spit" and the droplets are large.
It worked after a fashion, but I would not use it for a panel that was 
visible.

I got it to paint louver doors, where it works just fine.
