I received an HW-9 in a swap a few years back. It *never worked* according to
the guy I got it from...
I don't believe he was the original owner.

After fixing numerous bad solder joints, bridges, alignment, etc. the
receiver works GREAT! Well, at least on 40 & 20m - I haven't played about on the
other bands much.

However it will not transmit... Well - It sorta won't transmit. I can hear it
transmitting on another receiver, but there is no output - The finals have
been replaced, btw.

Doing the resistance checks / per the manual / it says I should see 3000 -
6000 Ohms from CWL to ground with P101 disconnected --- If not D143 is reversed
or faulty (according to the manual). D143's cathode is grounded - so it reads
open to ground. Reversing the diode gets me the 6k that the manual says...
What am I missing?

Oh yeah - Reversing the diode did NOT get me OTA ;-(...
