When I replaced mine early last year, I used a braided
fishing line, which is very strong, abrasion
resistant, and doesn't stretch. It was "Spiderwire"
brand, bought at Walmart a few years ago. I'm not
sure if the same Kevlar-based product is available
anymore. The new Spiderwire product seems to be
polyethylene filament braids, but DuPont Spectra-based
zero-stretch braided line is available under the brand
name Western Filament Tuf Line XP.
I also restrung a couple of Hallicrafters receivers'
dials with it.

Looking for a source
for
the
Preselector drive belts. (Considered stringing them
with dial string
kits.)
