[Heathkit] Polishing aluminum part of SB-series escutcheon

Just wanted to update and report results...
It turns out that W0QFC's Brillo pad suggestion worked very well. The
scuffs came off, and I believe they might have been due to there being a
thin, clear finish layer of some sort that got scuffed. (Does anybody
here know if Heathkit made them this way?)

But before using this method, be careful: I had nothing to lose since
this particular escutcheon looked fairly bad to begin with. Don't press
too hard or you'll wear down the raised letters and scratch the plastic
too much. Lightly scrubbing leaves a brushed texture very similar to
the original look. The scouring pad will, however, remove the black
paint from the top of the raised letters that spell H E A T H K I T, and
you'll need to re-paint them when you're finished. I did this by very
carefully applying black paint using a single thin wire to apply it a
drop at a time, waiting for it to dry, then trimming with an exacto
knife. A toothpick might work for applying paint too. This takes a
while but ends up looking pretty good. Maybe you'll find a better
way. Don't scrub the model number sticker, though, because those
letters aren't raised and you'll have to find some other way to get them
back.

Lastly, the scouring pad will scratch the adjacent plastic of the
escutcheon. If you haven't rubbed too hard, I found that these can be
easily removed using automotive scratch remover.
