The manual for the 955 on BAMA specifies RG-58A/U coax, and regular test
prod wire, "kinkless" being the very flexible stranded wire used for VOM
leads, for the two separate leads. They studiously avoid specifying the
length of the test cables, but I suspect something in the 24" range
would be typical.
They have all sorts of caveats about separating the cable from the
instrument, (although if it's that critical, why the Hxxx did they make
it detachable???,) and gives the adjustment procedure if the cable has
to be replaced. Essentially, from a quick read, it looks like the just
"tune out" the capacity of the cable by adjusting a variable inductor.
If you back the slug all the way out and it still doesn't meet the
specs, you'll probably need to shorten the test cable to reduce the
parallel capacitance.
