[Heathkit] Trouble with ETA-3400 and ET-3400

I have now received my second ETA-3400 Memory expansion/BASIC adapter for
the ET-3400 and I just can't seem to make any of them work.

I have tried two different ET-3400A's and one ET-3400 with both of the
Memory Expansion boxes and they all exhibit the same symptoms. This makes
me think that it's just got to be operator error.

In all cases, I have removed the two RAM's from the ET-3400 before
connecting them to the ETA-3400's.

Using some jumpers and a logic probe, I've been able to check the memory
addressing of the ETA-3400's and the memory address PROM's. It all appears
to be working from a static perspective. When I use the Reset button on
the ET-3400, I just get what appears to be "run away" code.

Does anyone have any experience with these guys? I have manuals for the
ETA-3400 and both the ET-3400 and the ET-3400A. No where in any of the
manuals do I see the instructions for installing the additional pins
required on the ET-3400's to plug the memory expansion box. This makes me
believe that I'm missing some piece of the puzzle. Is there any
modifications that need to be made to the ET-3400's for them to work with
the ETA's?

I would like to get the Memory Expansion working so I can see if it will
work with the EE-3404 16-bit adapters that I'm selling.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Don
