Heath used at least 5 different types of paint on the
SB-Line cabinets. Well, there are at least 5
different colors. Also, most, but not all, of the
Heath cabinets were NOT primed before they were
painted (this includes the DX series, HW series,
etc.). Those are the ones that will come out stripped
from a dishwasher. In fact you really shouldn't put
any Heath cabinets in a dishwasher because the paint
flakes can clog the pump, filters, etc.

I just use the gel type paint strippers that run about
$8 for a quart at home improvement centers. So far I
haven't found any type of paint on a cabinet that they
will not strip. Just put the stripper on using a
cheap paint brush, let stand until the paint gets
bubbles all over and then peel off with a putty knife.
Such may take from a couple of minutes to over 20
minutes depending on the air temperature and the type
of paint. This will get at least 99% of the paint
off. What remains you are going to have to use one of
those cheap hand sanders (under $20) or wrap sandpaper
around a wood block and go at it manually.

If you need the Sherwin-Williams formula for the color
of paint that was used on some of the SB-Line cabinets
and all of the SB-104 cabinets (in my opinion the best
looking of the 5 different cabinet colors) let me
know. I have a "canned response" to the paint
questions and can include the formula for 1 quart
which runs under $12.
