If you are getting 50 watts output on AM carrier
(without modulation) then you definitely have
something wrong in the modulator.  The DX-60 should
put out around 15 watts of carrier and then peak out
to between 35 and 50 watts depending on the band when
modulating.

Remember that the DX-60 series uses the controlled
carrier version of screen modulation.
