Hey Jim

	I've done a lot of modernizing to my SB104A. I did away with the diode
mixers in the front-end and replaced them with H-Mode mixers, the 1st post
mixer amp is replaced with a QUADJ310 amp and the AGC/IF section replaced by
Bill Carvers AGC/IF amp. The SSB/CW filters were moved to the chassis and
are now switched by reed relays. The audio section was also totally rebuilt.
The next mod is a roofing filter post 2nd mixer (I incorporate an additional
post 2nd mixer QUADJ310 amp to help the S/N). Most of the mods mentioned
here can be found in Wes Hayward's "Experimental Methods in RF Design. The
next mod will replace the VFO with a DDS, that board assembly with
oscillator is enroute from I0CG.... Will also probably replace the current
LED display, (also a mod) with LCD. Just happen to like improving the old
rig.
