[Heathkit] Heath audio, rough around the edges.

Hi Jim

The way I went about it might not be easily accomplished by others. My rig
is modified to where I can put the output of my 8640B signal generator
directly into the matching transformer for SSB crystal filter (all crystal
filters are relay switched), also hanging a HP frequency counter at that
point. I then look at the output of that filter directly into a HP141T
Spectrum Analyzer. That setup has allowed me to find those -20 dB points. I
would think the spectrum analyzer could be replaced by a AC voltmeter at the
speaker terminals, making sure the AGC is disabled. After finding those
frequencies, the BFO crystals will need to be trimmed to meet the
requirements. My SSB filter is not the original, I'm using a INRAD, so
skirts are a bit tighter.

I'll give you the data that I compiled here.

LSB was 3.3936 MHz

LSB now 3.3938

USB was 3.3964

USB now 3.3961.8

I hope this was helpful to you Jim.
