Both the Chinese 572B and the 811A tubes used to
suffer (may still suffer) from this.  The problem was
that the elements were not always aligned in the same
position as were the Taylor and other "NOS"
manufacturers tubes.  When they got hot the grid would
"sag" and short out to the plate.
