In days of olde, one rarely saw a station that was all Heath, Drake,
Johnson, etc.
Ham Stations were a mix and match of homebrew (usually transmitters) and
what ever fit the operators operating style and pocketbook.
I'm not sure of the fundamental(s) in the Heath VFO's but it was probably
3.5+ for 80M and 7.0+ for 40M.
I was easy to add 8.333Mhz. for use in a doubler, then tripler to 50 Mhz.
8.0Mhz, doubled, then tripled and tripled again yields 144Mhz.
This made the VFO marketable to the Novice and Technician classes for 6 and
2M AM. with whatever transmitters they were using.
