You're absolutely right.  I forgot about the notch.  It sounds 
interesting when it's trying to kill the heterodyne when listening to CW 
and leaving it in one of the non-CW positions.

You're also right about the price.  I got interested at $10, but not at 
the original $70.

I haven't found the gain to be a problem with either speakers or 
headphones.  AGC would be nice, since they're easy to overload.
