What you say may (or may not) be factual, but your method of delivery does your case (or the reputation of radio amateurs) no good.  

As a rather uninformed bystander, I was almost swayed by your arguments, but your attitude so detracted from your message that your passion was wasted.

Experience has taught me that if you're trying to sway the opinions of the masses, you get a lot more flies with honey then you do with sour grapes.

I've been silently reading the goings-on here long enough!  It appears that certain AH's on these lists are hammering Duane AGAIN!  WHEN will you dimwits get a life and stop harrassing people with impairments?  Make you feel like big sh*ts??  (taking a deep breath before I explode!!!!)  Over the years, Duane and the owner of this domain and these listservers have repeated asked people to help to keep the peace on these groups and provide financial support to maintain them!  Granted, there are some members who, due to financial hardships etc., could not contribute financially but who respected other members and and adhered to common courtesy.  The mental midgets, however, are unwilling to do either by choice!  

I believe the HCI should continue but with stricter rules applied (i.e. verification of licensed status, a database established for troublemakers so that they cannot move from list-to-list once banned from one and all new members screened by said database BEFORE they are granted membership, etc.!  I moderate several federal LE webgroups and these methods have been highly successful in weeding out those less-than-desireables from our ranks and ensuring that all members are indeed sworn members of LE.  Unfortunately, neither Alan nor Duane would probably have the time to devote to these security features, as it is almost a full-time job!  

Bottom line, if you've got a LEGITIMATE gripe, discuss it with the responsible party in a polite, responsible manner.  If you can't be civil, then button your piehole, suck it up and move on!  Just lay off the blind dude!!!  He's been through more than enough grief these past few years, much of it because of jerk-comments like yours and the "I am greater than thou!" attitudes of the rest!!

People like YOU are who's giving Amateur Radio a bad name and a CB-like reputation!!
