There were 4 mikes on Edgar
Winters Fender pre CBS tube type Twin Reverb guitar amp that was cranked to
the max, and 3 mikes on brother Johnny's vocals.
I attended a Rick Derringer, Edgar and Johnny Winter performance in April,
2006. They're still around. I think this event was the first time they were
together in many years. Outstanding talent. I went to see them due to my
interest in synthesizers. Edgar did a magnificent rendition of "Frankenstein".
Johnny is a phenomenal guitar player. Back on topic of Heathkit, my youthful
interest in Ham Radio and building electronic things mixed with my appreciation
of music. In addition to radio, I enjoy building and fooling around with
electronic music devices and audio stuff. Too bad Heathkit didn't make a
synthesizer kit. They did make some great audio equipment, especially vacuum tube
designs in the late '50's, early 60's.
