Mine is stable, but it mostly depends on how well it was assembled and 
the condition of the 6CH8 tube. Some tubes are better than others. Its a 
simple design and not hard to repair. I've never had anything go wrong 
except for the tube, which became drifty and chirpy. I think its a fine 
VFO, though I would not use it on 6 or 2 meters.

Watch out for cracked dial drums in older HG-10's, although there are 
reproduction replacements available.

There is no difference between the HG-10 and HG-10B, except for the 
paint. The HG-10B has a darker wrinkle finish to match the DX-60B and 
HR-10B. The HG-10 has a smooth finish that matches the earlier DX-60(A) 
and HR-10.
