Hi Bob. I looked in the SB-230 manual and it calls for a 69-55 relay.
I checked my SB-220 manual and it uses the same part number 69-55.
The SB-220 manual says 69-55 $7.75 TPDT 110 VDC relay.
The SB-230 manual just calls it a relay.
On page 110 of the SB-230 manual, it show a pretty good picture of the
relay. It looks like the center set of contact are not used, nothing is
soldered to them. So I'd say you should be able to use an SB-220 relay
without any problems. I can scan page 110 and email it to if you like.
Hope your tube is good. They are way expensive to replace if you can find
one. When I got mine, it would run a while then blow the .75 amp fuse with
a big bang. I pulled the plate voltage off the tube by lifting the wire with
the beads that connect to the plate and let it run with just the heater
voltage for about 3 or 4 hours. Hooked the plate back up and then the fuse
held. Don't know if the tube was a little gassy and liked to flash over but
it seems to work after the 3 or 4 hours of cooking.
Good luck with the SB-230. They are a nice looking amp.
