[Heathkit] AM-2 SWR Question

Hello all,
	I have a couple AM-2 swr meters and neither work but all the 
connections appear solid.  That being so, it seems to me the diodes 
must be fried.  Since I don't have a schematic nor parts list for 
these and BAMA doesn't have a parts list with their schematic, I'm 
checking to make sure I don't install the wrong diodes.  I'm figuring 
to use the 1N914.  My question is, "will these work or is there a 
better choice?"
