Gary K5JWK was right.  He said it was a 23B >transformer<, not that your 
supply was a 23B.

The 54-807 is definitely for the 23C.  It may be the same number in the 
23B but I don't have a P/L for the B.  It may also be for the PS-23 but 
I'd have to go downstairs, open the box and look.

The 549 is the vendor's EIA code - probably Grand Transformer but I'm 
not sure - and the 7936 is the date code.  Which of course proves that 
the trans was replaced because the 36th week of 79 is WAY too late for 
anything in an HP-23.
