[Heathkit] Modified SB220 with 5 tubes

Is it just me (I admit that aside from some photos I have never looked
inside an SB-220) or is that tank coil only for the higher bands? I
don't see any taps either.

That one takes the cake! I'm curious as to why someone would build a
full legal limit amplifier out of a full legal limit amplifier?
Something tells me this was or is used on the 11 meter band.
