[Heathkit] Package delivery services and my HW-101

Shipped a $2,000 amp to Texas from Washington. Triple boxed, strapped to a plywood pallet, foamed in place...the works. Arrived in Texas squashed flat with semi tracks across the top. UPS refused to pay saying, "you shipped it that way."
Having had problems before, I do two things that take almost no effort: I ALWAYS take a digital photo of the box sitting on the shipping counter with their clerk in the picture. And I always have the clerk inspect the box and write on the shipping document that it met their shipping specifications.
After faxing the two documents to their claims office the check arrived a week later.
By the way, I do tons of Ebay stuff and Fed-X for large items or USPS for small have been the two best shippers.
