Your shipment did not go through the Mesquite, Texas,
hub, it went through Fort Worth only.  Mesquite is a
real "house of horrors" according to those people I
know who have visited the operation.  I definitely
believe it since UPS has even damaged several wooden
crated items that I have received.

Also, the small boxes usually, but not always, make it
through fine.  Those are almost like bricks!  As the
boxes get larger the damage to the box increases
substantially, at least in my experience.

I usually "grin and bare it" with shipments from
Mouser since the parts usually make it fine (due to
Mouser's packing).  For some reason when the doorbell
rang and I went to the door to get the package (the
driver had already gone and it was less than 10
seconds before I opened the door) and found it to be
in such bad condition that I just had to let everyone
know why I have used FedEx ground for the past almost
3 years.  Before that, for over 32 years I had used
UPS exclusively.  Then things changed!
