Information & Suggestion Needed...
I recently inquired a near mint Heath SB-200 amp.
With all of my equipment I always look things over
carefully and clean them up if needed. I noticed
that the two grid resistors, the 33 ohm 1 watt carbon
resistors from pin 3 of the 572's sockets had been
replaced at one time with 56 ohm 2 watt resistors.
The Heath schematic shows 33 ohm 1 watt.
Is this a common problem with the SB-200's from
running to much grid drive, burning up the 1 watt
resistors. ? The amp works just fine. Peak voice
modulation on SSB show 500 to 600 watts out
on all bands.
The question is....
1. Should the resistors be replaced with 1 watt or 2 watt
resistors. I think I know the answer to this question,
but more than one head is better than one...
