The 75 pf variable capacitor works fine in the 6 meter
positon. It is just in the 2 meter position that it
is really screwball! On the surface everything is
working as it should except that the plate current is
way too low. Obviously there is something that I am
overlooking!
Back to the bench.

as in the case of a PI circuit. It is used to tune
the link to series resonance. All the way out is not
maximum loading. If anything, all the way in would be
max loading and somewhere in between should be appropriate.
