What was used on my experimental SW crystal set with effect lighting, did not
give a frosted appearance. the color is good and resists theat very well. Good
stuff, but no frosted look.

Rosco's lamp dip is called "Colorine". They have a "clear" dip listed,
but no mention whether it's a diffusion or not. Their web site is
www.rosco.com.
If nothing else, #47s run cool enough that you could probably use
standard Roscolux diff like R114 and tape it around a #47 lamp.
