FWIW, I actually went the opposite direction in my HW101. I had read
somewhere that the 6HS6s run hotter and have shorter life, and the
improvement didn't seem to be all that stellar. I plugged in a set of
6AU6s, re-aligned the rig, and never looked back. I don't recall that I
even noticed any difference, but it's been quite a few years.

Sure wish I knew where that 101 is these days....
