Try an old fashioned hardware store or auto parts store. You want 1/8 
inch "O" rings. They are numbered:  # 227 is 2-1/8 inch i.d. If you need 
something a little tighter (as I did on the loading control) try # 226 
which is 2 inches i.d.

You can also replace the rings with dial cord. This was done by Heath on 
the later HW-101's and the SB-102.  some owners have also replaced the 
belts on the driver-preselector capacitors with dial cord. This is 
described on one of the web sites. I'll check to see if I can locate the 
article.
