Hello All,
First let me thank all of you who tried to shake the information I needed out of
those dusty old cobwebs from decades past. I greatly appreciate your efforts.
For those of you who need to know the correct channel sequence for the push
buttons on the HW-202, here it is.
Top Row Of 3 TX Push Buttons:
(button number 4 is 'NOT' pressed in)
Channel two, Channel four, Channel six
(fourth button is pressed in)
Channel one, Channel three, Channel five
The parallel row of three RX push buttons, just below the row of TX push
buttons, should be set the same way.
However, one nifty thing you can do, if you so desire, is to use different
combinations of TX and RX frequencies! For instance, suppose that channel 4 is
the national simplex call frequency of 146.52 MHZ. Instead of setting the RX for
146.52, suppose you and an equally crazy Ham buddy decide to have split
personalities. You have the TX on 146.52 and the RX on 147.58 and he has his TX
on 147.58 and his RX on 146.52 However, do 'NOT' use the national frequency of
146.52 MHZ as shown in my example! It was purely hypothetical here.
Now one of you on this list who claims to have worked for Heathkit, and I have
no reason to doubt that, nor am I suggesting it is questionable, sent me the
wrong push button sequence and accompanied the note with some insults about my
IQ. I hope that you deliberately sent me wrong information, otherwise those
remarks about my two digit IQ might actually be more appropriate when you speak
of yourself. (chuckle)
