[Heathkit] SB cabinet repaint question?

I'd suspect this is a good idea. I did a large desktop cabinet 30 years ago
for a "wrinkle era" piece of gear during the time you could buy decent paint
in spray cans.
I found that I had to paint on ONLY horizontal surfaces and under a HEAT
lamp and then I could control the wrinkle and prevent sags. Before I did
that I had to remove paint from a vertical surface when I was first trying
to get down a workable technique. It required several different passes as
things began to dry and it was hard to get to all surfaces but eventually it
all worked out and friends it looked like it was factory done.

---stuff cut ---
I found that applying the paint on a warm day in the direct sun caused the
paint to set up more rapidly, thus avoiding sagging.
