[Heathkit] Speaking of Zenith...and unbuilt kits

Did you read in ARRL's Vintage Amateur Radio
publication about Zenith acquiring Central Electronics
and them dumping the ham business?  I'm surprised they
bought Heathkit, even though it was a few decades
later.

Those unbuilt kits are turning up on the auction
sites.  An unbuilt SB-221 sold this weekend on eBay
for $3,495, which, given the price of full power out
linears is not completely outrageous..but get this: on
February 1st, an unbuilt HW-101 sold for $2,750 with
31 bids (I've been keeping an access database since
the first of the year).
