[Heathkit] Problem With RX On HW-30?

Greetings All, 	
	
The Heathkit HW-30 lights up, I have air noise type audio that varies with the
volume control, the antenna is connected and everything appears normal. However,
it does not receive anything.	
	
Our airport is on the opposite side of Flint from here, about twelve miles, but
on the companion HW-30 I receive the airport control tower and aircraft traffic
very strong. Probably somewhere in the 130 MHZ area, but the Twoer is noted for
wide reception!	
	
I do not notice any difference in the audio with the antenna connected or not.
Bad RCA jack? Bad tube? Dirty contacts somewhere?	
	
Any thoughts as to what generally caused this condition in the Heathkit Twoer?
