[Heathkit] Stupid Question about Capacitors for HO-10

I believe you are correct. Other types of capacitors can safely be
installed either way. However, there is often a marking to indicate the
outside foil. It can be a stripe on one end, a ball of solder on one
lead, next to the body, or some other designation to indicate the outside
foil. For by-pass caps this side should go to ground, to shield the
inside foil. For coupling caps it should go to the source (plate) to
shield the input (grid).
