Its a good radio for packet, too, or for monitoring your favorite 
frequency. Crystals aren't cheap these days, so to crystal it up for all 
6 channels will run about $180 (figure $15 per crystal). It will also 
need a tone board for today's repeaters. It puts out about 15 watts. A 
nice radio, ruggedly built.
