I built both the DX-60A transmitter and HG-10 VFO from kits (birthday
present from my dad) back in the '60s and used the pair for many years mated
with my Lafayette HA-350 (yes, it's narrow passband made AM awfully tough
.... maybe that's what drove me to CW!) ... replaced my Globe HG-303 /
Hallicrafters S-107 Novice station.

I consistently received EXCELLENT signal reports.

I would just configure the equipment as Heathkit designed it, and have fun.
