Some of the older Heath equipment (i.e. monobanders)
used 250 volts for the LV (low voltage, actually lower
of the two high voltages). The original HP-23 had to
be hard wired to change the voltages between 250 volts
and 300 volts. Starting with the HP-23A there was a
switch. I modifed my HP-23 to have this switch.

The HW-101 should use the 300 volt position.

You can download the manuals for all of the Heathkit
HP-23 series from BAMA at http://bama.sbc.edu for
free.
