[Heathkit] Tube tester

My wife had me looking in the Garage for something and I ran across a Heath
TC-1 tube tester.

I forgot I had this.  When I opened it up I remembered why...
The last time I used it, 25+ years ago, the transformer started cooking and
I shut it down.

I started to do some trouble shooting and found nothing wrong (yet).
Does anyone have any experience with this piece of gear?
