[Heathkit] Heathkit SB-610

I just acquired an SB-610 oscilloscope off of E Bay. I paid a premium
price for it because it was in such good condition and was presumably
fully operational. The physical condition is without reproach, no doubt.

BUT when I plugged it in the 1/2 amp slow blow fuse went 10 seconds
later. I first thought it might be a shorted filament in a tube so I
removed all the tubes and tested them. Both the compactrons tested bad
on one section but that may be my incompetence on the tube tester. None
of the filaments were shorted however and all glowed properly.

SO I decided to replace the fuse and the tubes ONE AT A TIME. I didn't
have a 1/2A slow blow fuses so I used a 1 amp Fast Blow. With no tubes
it worked without blowing the fuse. I plugged the tubes in one at a
time and and the fuse still held.

Now it appears to be operational except that the fuse is a 1 amp Fast blow.

Before I go back to the PO about the problem and possibly two marginal
compactrons, What will it cost me to replace those two compactrons and
is this a normal thing to have to use a 1 amp fuse instead of the 1/2
amp supplied? Maybe the caps needed forming in the PS??? The
compactrons are a 6J11 and a 6C10.
