[Heathkit] Heathkit IT-3117

I recently picked up a Heath IT-3117 tube tester which has a slight problem.  When testing any tubes with the type switch set at # 3 the meter goes dead when I press test on the tester.  It only does this on the # 3 position.  When I test tubes designated to the 1, 2, and 4 position on the switch it tests them fine.  All resistors are well within tolerance,  I cleaned the switch and other switches to no avail.  Anyone here know how to rectify this problem?
