If its drifting up and down, I would not suspect warmup problems. There
is no voltage regulation, so if your line voltage varies a lot you could
see some drift. You might try cleaning the end bearings on the variable
capacitors, not the ball bearings, but the brass fingers that make
contact with the shafts. Try  a good quality contact cleaner or DeOxit.
The same goes for the band switch. You could also have a faulty
oscillator tube or dirty tube socket.
