[Heathkit] Intermittent HG-10

PROBLEM: The HG-10 works when first turned on. In about 10 seconds to
maybe over a minute, the frequency starts to come down and within about 3 to
7 seconds it drops to zero. After a while ( varies greatly, 30 seconds to
maybe 5 minutes) it begins to oscillate, starting at zero frequency, and
rising to the correct frquency. Then all of this is repeated, over and over.
SO FAR, I HAVE: Replaced tubes. Re-soldered all the connections, I think.
Shoved and pulled on wires and components, and checked the voltages on the
6CH8. I began heating resisters, when I stopped for dinner last night. As
I write this, I have not faced it today; however, I do not believe that
either the Green Fairy or the Magic Bunny fixed anything for me last night.
(Their agent promised me, but never said when.)
Anyone out there fix a similar problem?
Any advise is greatly appreciated.
Gene, WB6SZS
