For what's it's worth.
I use a SB 303 with my Maurauder. It's a good receiver and very sensitive.
I have all filters in it and they are effective. The RF attenuator is
helpful in desensing the receiver under some conditions due to unusually
high sensitivity. The biggest fault I can find with mine is that the wafers
on the band switch are worn and I frequently have to rock the BS to get it
on band correctly. Another little uhoh is the crystal calibrator output is
weak and I have to flip the switch and disconnect the antenna before
calibrating the receiver.
My overall opinion of the 303 is that it is a top notch boatanchor receiver
and if you paid under $150 for a decent one, you did good!
