[Heathkit] DX-60/HR-10 knobs & HR-10 alignment

I'm in the process of restoring an HR-10B receiver. It's coming along
nicely, but the knobs have taken on a brownish-tan shade to the normal
light grey they should be. I imagine this is the result of it sitting in a
hot attic for 20 years or something similar.

Do any of you know a source of replacement knobs? Or - do any of you know
how to return these things to their original color, or if it's even
possible? I'd like to get it to match the DX-60B I have that looks nearly
new, but would rather not buy a junker just for the knobs.

While I'm at it, here's a question about troubleshooting the HR-10B.
Although I haven't gone through the alignment procedure yet, preliminary
tests show that the receiver tunes consistently high in frequency on all
bands. With the tuning capacitor fully meshed, it can't get down to the
bottom of any of the bands. I imagine this has something to do with V2B
(the L.O.) being off center, possibly one of the fixed capacitors in
parallel with the main tuning capacitor or the calibration reset capacitor.
Have any of you run into this? The alignment procedure in the manual
doesn't seem to include any adjustment to bring the bands into range.

Tnx, 73,
Chris, W2PA
