[Heathkit] WTB: diodes for IM-2420 counter

Can anyone help a friend of mine acquire the diodes he needs without
having to pay $100 for a minimum order. Is there a known good substitute?

    Model #:   Heathkit IM-2420 Frequency Counter

    Diodes needed (4 ea.).
        Circuit component number: D5, D6, D7, D8.
        Heath Part number: 56-87
        Replacement:  FH1100 or N1100.

The Parts List also refers to the diodes as "HP5".
It appears that the 1N5390 is also a replacement.
