[Heathkit] Heathkit Cabinet Screws

The VF-1 just used #6 sheet metal screws. Those are
available in 100 quantities at Lowe's, Home Depot,
etc. However, many times the holes are pretty well
stripped out. Then, you have to use #8 sheet metal
screws. Most of them do have a slightly larger head
than the #6.

Most sheet metal screws come today with Phillips
heads. But, if you look around, you can still find
the old slot types. They come 100 and 500 to the box!
Such screws are still used in the heating and air
conditioning business.

Also, the 10-32 screws for rack panels and the trim
rings are also readily available at the home
improvement centers. I usually use the round head
types with the decorative rings. But, flat head
screws with both Phillips and slot heads are also
readily available. I buy them 100 at a time since 100
only costs about what 10 or 15 cost in those little
plastic bags!

Does anyone know of a source for bulk cabinet screws
suitable for old Heathkits - IE the kind used on the
VF1 panel / cabinet etc. holding the HW101 cabinets
