When I "link couple" a sample out of a pi network (for a TR
switch) I use very small miniature coax for two or three turns,
with the center wire grounded to the chassis and the shield
not connected there, I run it through an existing hole in the
chassis nearby, and I strip the vinyl and solder the shield
there carefully and quickly. I mount it at "the output end"
of the tank coil, with the same sized coils as the tank coil
itself. This technique should work for coupling power out
of the tank without coupling so much of the harmonic content
out.
I plan on building a two tube amplifier for CW use B4 I
die, I will run them push pull to cancel the second harmonic
generation and a output link between the two tanks is the
natural way to couple power out. I need to remember to use
coax there. (after I get a tower)
